Lyrics
There were bells on a hillBut I never heard them ringing
No, I never heard them at all
Till there was you
There were birds in the sky
But I never saw them winging
No, I never saw them at all
Till there was you
Then there was music and wonderful roses
They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows
Of dawn and dew
There was love all around
But I never heard it singing
No, I never heard it at all
Till there was you
Then there was music and wonderful roses
They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows
Of dawn and dew
There was love all around
But I never heard it singing
No, I never heard it at all
Till there was you
Till there was you

sweet melodyPosted by richard marquez, 17/05/2007 19:29
The Beatles rendition of the "Music Man," ballad evokes a time and place when Paul was trying to be the hopeless romantic in his songs...It was a favorite in early concerts, and one of his favorites and served as an indicator of the type of ballads, etc. that he would embrace even to the present day...For anybody who has been in love, this song serves as a memory of how sweet love can be,and how we remember it to be when it is present in our lives...

When my daughter Cleo was born, I always tried to sing her songs especially when it was time to sleep. But the song that I felt most appropriate was "Till There Was You" because before she was born, I never really liked being with children especially babies. But when she was born, everything changed, just like the words in the song. I loved her so much because she was so adorable. Truly a gift from God.
When I gave birth to my second child, Iqbal, I continued to sing this song to him. As my children got older, they sang along with me when I sang the song to them at night. And 10 years later, we usually sing this song wherever we go especially in the car on our way to school.
By the way, I am a teacher and this has been my profession for the past 9 years - as an English teacher at a course as well as a kindergaten, elementary and junior high teacher. I guess this was because of my children...Till there was them.
